About
I hate the word hobby
Art comes from within, and is therefore part of who you are
Painting is a great way to escape from everyday life. It is so therapeutic. It challenges and absorbs one
As a child I loved to draw and paint. I was always in a world of my own, so drawing suited me well. I knew I wanted to be an artist, and so art school was the natural place for me to go. Sadly, it was not for me. In fact I hated it. The tutors were unpleasant and cutting at times. It also became apparent to me, that shutting myself away to paint, and try and make a living was not really suited to my personality. I left after two years.
Fast forward 44 years and a friend who is an artist, persuaded me to go on a 3 day painting course with her. I was terrified. Whilst I had forgotten so much about how to use the materials, my joy of creating came flooding back.
